The Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC) announces a new call for grants for research in biogenomics (genomics of biodiversity), which is expected to open on April 30, 2026.
This is the fifth call held within the framework of the Biogenoma-IEC program and is aimed at funding projects aimed at the de novo sequencing of genomes of eukaryotic species in Catalan-speaking and cultural territories, and at the scientific exploitation of the data generated during the first phase of the program.
The call is aimed at researchers belonging to public or non-profit research organisations based in any Catalan-speaking and cultural territory. The call accepts proposals with a total budget of up to €100,000, which must be carried out within a period of one or two years.
The deadline for submitting applications and the corresponding documentation ends on May 18, 2026 at 12 noon. To access the regulatory bases and the online application, consult the IEC’s research grant calls website.
